GO
As soon as I read the word I started singing one of my current favorite songs, I Will Fall, from the show Nashville.
Some of the lyrics are:
When we said goodbye it was forever
And I spent the last year piecing my life together
Just when I think I’ve let you go
Your song’s playing on the radio
And just like that it rushes back
Every part of you
I will fall, I will fall if you come around
Just when I think my heart break has settled down
I will fall, I will fall if you come around
And I spent the last year piecing my life together
Just when I think I’ve let you go
Your song’s playing on the radio
And just like that it rushes back
Every part of you
I will fall, I will fall if you come around
Just when I think my heart break has settled down
I will fall, I will fall if you come around
It's a song about a broken heart, about past love. But I realized it can also refer to things we've left behind. Bad habits, addictions, "friends" who weren't good for us. You finally get over them, and then something shows up again to tempt you or try to lure you back to the way you lived before.
But with God, we have a way to not fall. He gives us the strength to keep walking, past that temptation, or to look it in the eyes and say "No." And if we DO fall, He is always there to catch us and set us back on the right path.
That's a very comforting thought, don't you think? :)
